The main purpose of a hotel is a place where a traveler stays while visiting a destination and uses as a base while in that destination. Basic necessities such as a bed, restaurant, bathroom and closet space are all you really need but is that all you really want in a hotel? Many hotels in San Francisco offer so much more to make your stay that much more enjoyable and some of these hotels are cheap hotels. There are many things that can make a hotel fun and some amenities that are offered at these hotels include swimming pools, game rooms, dance clubs, themed restaurants and unique décor. If you are looking for a more unique and fun hotel experience the next time you are staying in San Francisco, here is a list of some hotels you should consider:
1) Hotel Monaco, 501 Geary Street. This boutique hotel offers something different the moment you walk in with a front desk that is actually a steamer trunk! The main lobby features a huge fireplace and every evening, a wine reception is held. Also features a fitness center, complimentary morning coffee, complimentary limousine service, twenty-four hour room service, spa. Enjoy French and California-inspired meals at the Grand Café and it’s old European appeal. Added bonus: The Hotel Monaco is close to all the popular must-see sites in the city!
2) Hotel Palomar, 12 4th St. Modern, stylish decor greets you at every corner at the Hotel Palomar, providing an immediate atmosphere of energy and fun! The service is great and focuses on individual attention so you are well taken care of during your stay and everything you need and want to see in the city is nearby. Some other features include an evening wine hour, fitness center, in-room spa services and the Kimpton Kids program that ensures even the youngest guests enjoy their stay!
3) Argonaut Hotel, 496 Jefferson St. This hotel is literally in the middle of everything! Million dollar views greet guests upon arrival in their rooms and it is in walking distance to all the things you are going to want to see while in San Francisco including Fisherman’s Wharf and Aquatic Park. Features a fitness center, spa, complimentary Aveda Bath amenities, in-room yoga accessories and the Blue Mermaid Chowder House and Bar.

These hotels I have listed above are only a very small representation of fun and cheap hotels that are in San Francisco. Although some of them may seem a little higher in price than what you normally pay for a cheap hotel, these hotels offer more than the average hotel and if it is the experience you are looking for more so than just a place to lay your head at night, booking in one of these hotels will give you a hotel experience you will not soon forget!
