The city of Austin is not your typical Texas town. Apparently, their motto is “Keep Austin Weird”; however, Portland Oregon boasts the same motto so I don’t know what to tell you.
But Austin is definitely a unique Texan town. The typical Texas country-western flavor mixed with a definitive artist’s community is what makes Austin different and distinctive. Austin is bohemian, funky, quirky, clever and fun. So can you find a cheap hotel to stay at in this colorful town? You sure can! There are lots of options for travelers to choose from.

The Driskill is a very popular and historic landmark; however, reports from various sources including employees and guests have provided testimonials indicating that the hotel may have some permanent ghostly residences.
